1688 Parcel Route Precheck for Paid Orders
Prepare destination, packed parcel measurements and exact contents for route screening before your paid 1688 parcel is sent overseas.
Collect three pieces of information before a route check
Start with the destination country and postal code, the packed parcel’s weight and outer dimensions, and an accurate list of its contents. State whether delivery is to a home, business or another address type. If the supplier has supplied item dimensions instead of the outer shipping box dimensions, mark the size as estimated and ask for packed measurements once available.
Describe every item as it will actually travel
Use the item name, materials or relevant components, quantities, unit values and currency. Add a product link or photo when the listing title is ambiguous. A description such as “accessories” leaves open whether the parcel contains metal magnets, battery-powered products or cosmetics. For a battery product, include whether the battery is built in or loose, and provide any available capacity and model information. For liquids, include the product and container volume. Share safety or compliance documents when requested.
Worked example: a flashlight has a route question
A buyer requests shipping for a 28 × 18 × 12 cm parcel weighing 1.3 kg. It contains two rechargeable flashlights, each with a battery installed. The dimensions describe the parcel, but they do not tell the carrier how to assess the contents. The buyer should send the listing, battery configuration, capacity or model if known, and the destination postal code. If the seller cannot confirm the battery specification, leave the request pending for that information before committing to a carrier.
What a useful precheck result looks like
Record whether the shipment is ready for quote review, needs better data, or requires manual acceptance review. A ready-for-quote result still depends on final weight and dimensions. A request with incomplete measurements should name exactly which measurements are missing. A manual review should identify the item that triggered it and the document or packing detail to confirm. If the parcel contents change after review, send an updated item list.
Keep restrictions attached to the item record
Flag any battery, magnet, liquid, powder, food, cosmetic or brand-sensitive product before requesting an international quote. Provide accurate details for each item even if several items share one box. Whether a carrier can accept a product depends on the route, the destination and the packing. A seller’s domestic courier acceptance does not establish international eligibility.
Common questions
Can I request a route check before the seller ships inside China?
Yes. Submit the known contents and destination, mark any estimates clearly, then update the request after dispatch or when the final parcel dimensions are available.
Do weight and dimensions alone tell me whether a parcel can ship?
Weight and dimensions help assess parcel fit and pricing. The item details and destination are also necessary for carrier acceptance review.
